North of Wawa  |  Creative Writing

Outside of my professional work, I have been exploring creative writing through continuing studies at the University of Toronto. Through coursework, I have developed a foundation in storytelling, character development, plot structure, and narrative arc while expanding my skills as a writer in a new medium.

The result is a near-complete first draft of North of Wawa, a surreal road-trip novel about love, perspective, and the unknowable. When a couple picks up a mysterious hitchhiker beneath the northern lights, the past and future collapse into one impossible present, forcing each character to question what is real, what is remembered, and what it means to truly know another person.

More than a creative exercise, the project has strengthened my ability to think about narrative, audience, pacing, and emotional resonance—skills that continue to inform my work as a communicator and storyteller across every medium.
