For more than a decade, I built and operated A Simple Photograph, growing it from a small local photography business into one that was frequently featured in international publications. While photography was the foundation, the work quickly evolved into something broader—brand strategy, creative direction, marketing, graphic design, partnership development, and business leadership.
I developed collaborative marketing campaigns that brought together florists, designers, jewellers, venues, and other creative partners to produce work that earned publication in leading industry publications including Weddingbells, Style Me Pretty, and Today's Bride. One collaborative editorial campaign I conceived and led resulted in national recognition, helping establish my studio as one of Canada's Top 10 wedding photographers (2011).
Beyond weddings, I worked with corporate, tourism, arts, and cultural organizations to create photography, visual identities, and promotional materials, including projects for the Stratford Festival. I also illustrated the published book Stratford Behind the Scenes (2012).
Running my own business taught me far more than photography. I managed every aspect of the organization—from client relationships and financial management to marketing, branding, business development, and strategic partnerships. It was here that I discovered my passion for building brands, telling stories, and bringing people together around a shared creative vision—skills that continue to shape my work in communications and leadership today.
